In any normal week, I see quite a few updates from the FDA regarding companies they've sent warning letters to, actions they've taken against illegitimate companies and more. This week, however, I found it curious that they retracted a posted warning letter to Procter and Gamble regarding their NyQuil product with added vitamin C.

One aspect that I find curious about this was that many major news sources picked up on the warning letter pretty quickly, but when I was checking the source by 10am EST, it had already been pulled down. Later in the day they sent out the above, but there's been no follow up to it.

Had the FDA changed their minds about the product they would have sent out a full retraction explaining the error I'm sure, but since that hasn't been done, I can only assume it was some other reason they pulled the letter. Perhaps the company hadn't received their direct letter yet, and the FDA was trying to avoid letting the media tell them about it first.

What do you think of this? Did the FDA bumble? Is there something more going on that we have yet to see in regards to this?
